What is a OneTouch® USB Cable? Why did LifeScan start offering one?
“USB” is short for “Universal Serial Bus.” A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 peripheral devices, such as mice, modems, and keyboards. USB also supports plug-and-play installation and hot plugging. Originally, the OneTouch® Interface Cable was available only in a 9-pin serial version. Some newer computers are produced with only USB ports, which is why LifeScan introduced a USB cable in 2004.
